The tour program
1st day: NAPOLI
Meeting with the participants and departure by bus toward Reggio Emilia AV railway station in the early morning. Departure by Italo TAV for Napoli. After the arrival in Napoli, you will have lunch in a restaurant. Meeting with the guide in the afternoon and tour of the monumental center of Napoli, Plebiscito Square, Umberto gallery, San Carlo Theater and Royal Palace (exterior). At the end of the day, arrival at the hotel, accommodation in reserved rooms, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: NAPOLI
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a guided tour of Napoli old town: the cathedral and San Gennaro Chapel, the decumanus maximus with a visit of S. Lorenzo Maggiore church, the narrow street of S. Gregorio Armeno rich in artisan workshops and where the tradition of the Neapolitan crib is kept alive, Spaccanapoli and San Domenico Square; San Severo Chapel in order to admire one of the most beautiful statue in the world that is the “Cristo Velato” (Giuseppe Sammartino), the lower decumanus in order to arrive at the monumental complex of S. Chiara. Lunch in a restaurant with pizza. In the afternoon you will have free time to spend on your own in the beautiful city of Napoli. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: PROCIDA
Breakfast at the hotel. Boarding on the ferry with private charter service from Pozzuoli harbor (40 minutes). Arrival at Marina Grande harbor and welcoming by a local guide. Short break at the harbor in order to taste the “lingua”, a typical dessert from the isle. Pleasant walk among the narrow streets which lead to the old town of Terra Murata and guided tour of the ancient old town, Avalos Palace and S. Michele Abbey. Panoramic break on belvedere that faces Marina Corricella, the typical fishers’ little town painted in light colors. Walk in Marina Corricella. Return to the harbor for a lunch with local menu. In the early afternoon you will enjoy an hour boat tour to admire Procida Isle seen by the sea. Return to Pozzuoli. Accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: COSTIERA AMALFITANA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by bus for “Costiera amalfitana”. Arrival in Positano “alta” and transfer by mini bus to the center of the town for a visit of the old town which is one of the most famous in the world. At the end, transfer by minibus to Positano “alta” and prosecution by bus to reach Amalfi. Arrival at the mariners’ city and lunch in a restaurant. Visit of the city with its old town and its famous cathedral. Departure for Ravello and tour of Villa Rufolo. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5th day: CAPRI
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer by minibus to the harbor. Meeting with the guide and departure by hydrofoil to Capri. Guided tour of the isle by private minibuses till Anacapri. Lunch in a restaurant. After lunch prosecution of the visit and return to Sorrento harbor in the afternoon. At the end of the day, transfer in the hotel to have dinner and overnight stay.
6th day: POMPEI
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Pompei and meeting with the guide for a tour of the excavations. Pompei has always fascinated its visitors. The Vesuvio eruption in 79 a.C. buried the city of Pompei which had been forgotten for many years. Nowadays, the city has become one of the most known and beautiful cities in the world. The excavations, started in the XVIII century, and which are still in progress, brought back to life what it was Pompei before and after the eruption. The tour will be followed by lunch in a restaurant. Afternoon will be spent on the visit of the Rosary Virgin Sanctuary of Pompei, the biggest in Italy, meditation with the Rosary and celebration of the holy mass. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
7th day: CASERTA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Caserta, meeting with the guide and visit of the apartments of one of the most extended and magnificent buildings in Italy: la Reggia di Caserta also called the “Southern Versailles”. It was built on the will of Carlo Borbone and it is considered to be the masterpiece of the architecture Vanvitelli. The huge building includes 1200 rooms with 1790 windows and 34 stairs. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon departure in order to go back home.
